Resilient Transitions is a Haarlem-based practice founded in 2025 to help clients in the Netherlands live to their fullest at every age. Dr. Norman relocated from the United States to share her expertise in promoting health and wellness. Suzanne earned a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kansas with a minor in Aging Studies. She completed a specialized internship in clinical geropsychology at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Palo Alto, California, and post-doctoral training in geriatric behavioral medicine at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Provided behavioral medicine and neuropsychological assessment services as part of a geriatric medical team at the Veterans Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri.
Created a Geropsychology Concentration within the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Responsibilities included:
Teaching university courses in the Psychology of Aging, Behavioral Health Promotion, Psychotherapy with Older Adults, and Geriatric Assessment
Supervising graduate students’ clinical work
Serving as the Chair for numerous doctoral dissertations on topics related to aging
Publishing aging-related research and conference papers
Founded Geropsychology Consultants Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio to provide:
Clinical services including: Psychotherapy, neuropsychological assessment, and behavioral medicine interventions to older adults and their families in retirement communities, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, hospice, and outpatient settings
Testifying as an expert witness in court on legal cases related to competency, guardianship, and undue influence upon an older adult
Consultation with physicians to clarify differential diagnosis and treatment planning for their geriatric patients
Educational classes and conference presentations to health
professionals on a range of topics related to working with seniors
Local presentations at senior centers and retirement communities focusing on successful aging
